I got an inquiry a few months back from Doris, she had send us a message about how much she loved our images from an online post of a wedding we were fortunate to shoot in 2016 that was featured in the Washingtonian. We had a great conversation about our style and her vision. Within the next day, we got through the consultation and contract details and started planning our session in D.C. We met up the National Gallery of Art for a quick session. It was such a beautiful session, I could sense the chemistry and love between the two love birds. We got a chance to chat briefly as the session went on and I found their story to be quite unique.
Doris and Dustin met online, on OkCupid. Doris messaged him because his username was “Q Street Runner” and she lived on Q street too. On top of that, Doris is big on running and her own username was “runninginsleep.” It was a reference to running in her dreams at night and never being able to get anywhere — just like she wasn’t getting anywhere in her dating life either! Doris and Dustin met up and she could finally put that frustration to bed for the rest of her life — Doris never had to wonder if Dustin and her would be a good couple or if they were compatible or if they saw the world the same way. Enjoy some of our favorite images from their session, we are truly honored and excited about their upcoming wedding next month in D.C.

We had the pleasure of meeting Lara and Tobi sometime last summer for the first time, when they both came over for consultation. Lara had reached out to us a few times prior before even booking their wedding venue. She wanted us to cover her special day and has always been a fan of our work. She told me that she knew I (Omojesu) would be her wedding photographer long before her and Tobi were thinking of getting married. I was truly excited and honored to be their wedding photographer. We started the day at the Hyatt hotel at the Galleria in Houston and proceeded to the church and ended the night at the Sans Souci Wedding Venue & Ballroom. This was one very beautiful wedding and we loved every single part of capturing their beautiful memories. We took a trip to Las Vegas for their engagement shoot a few months before the wedding. This was a very busy long weekend for us, they had their traditional wedding the day before the white wedding.

Lara and Tobi met for the very first time in high school. They walked past each other numerous times in school but never said a word to each other. Fast forward a couple years after high school they would see each other again at various church functions but still never spoke. Some more time passed before they saw each other again when a mutual friend had a baby and were both visiting separately. Lara walked past Tobi and for the first time, they exchanged greetings (Lara poked Tobi in the stomach playfully as she walked past which she still doesn’t remember till date). Tobi asked for her Blackberry BBM pin (“to expand his professional network” so he said Lol). A few weeks went by without any communication until one day they decided to go see a movie as friends. Their friendship grew over a couple of weeks. On one faithful day, Tobi asked Lara to make him some plantains and she agreed. It turned out to to be a trap because Tobi is actually a really good cook but wanted to see if she would do it. That day they shared their first kiss and have been together ever since dating back almost seven years.

We had a great time creating some amazing images with Amanda and Uwa. These love birds will be jumping the broom in San Jose, CA this fall. Can’t wait to spend time with them again. We started the day off at the Legion of Honor and walked around different parts close to the Golden gate bridge to capture some breathe-taking backdrops and we wrapped up the day at the Axiom hotel. It was really cool getting to know these two and Amanda was kind enough to share their love story below:

It was March 2012, when Amanda and Uwa got introduced through a mutual friend. They exchanged numbers as Amanda was interested in meeting more people since she was new to the Bay Area. One of the first questions during their first phone call was “where do you see yourself in five years?”. On their first date, “he asked how many kids do you want to have?”. Amanda started avoiding him (Uwa became the weird guy that asked serious questions) but he was persistent. Called Amanda every Friday for about 6 months. During those phone calls, they became good friends. Amanda admired his openness and kindness. The next date she agreed to go on with him, he said “you’re going to be my wife” then proceeded to ask “Will you be my girlfriend?” Amanda said yes and here they are five years later and his statement is about to come to pass.

Enjoy some of favorite shots from the session.

Temidayo and Kunle  met through a mutual friend. Temi wasn’t looking for a relationship at the time as she just ended a long winded relationship.  Kunle was very persistent from their first phone conversation after she gave her friend the go ahead to give Kunle her number. From then they talked everyday and found out they have a lot of values in common. She was so excited that she always looked forward to talking to him. He called her Mrs. Afonja from their first convo and they say the rest is history. They started dating within a month and it was a very unconventional short courtship.

From getting to know these two, you could tell they were madly in love with one another. We met up a couple months later to do an engagement shoot at the City Centre in Houston. Kunle had called us that he wanted to formally propose to Temidayo and wanted to do it during the engagement shoot. So I played along till we found the perfect spot for him to get on one knee. I had Temidayo strike a pose looking away while  Kunle got on one knee. I’ll let the images below tell the full story. Wishing you guys the best of luck as you embark on this remarkable journey called marriage.
